After the Treatment
Juvéderm has impressive results that last for approximately 9 months, much longer than other injectables. Its effects will vary depending on factors like your skin type, areas treated, and the injection technique. There are even times when this treatment can have effects that last up to a year. For lip treatments, however, injections may need to be repeated after every 6 months since lips normally have high vascularization.
At least 24 hours after the treatment, you shouldn’t do any strenuous exercises or let yourself be exposed to sun or heat. You also shouldn’t consume any alcoholic beverage. These might trigger any side effect like redness, bumps, pain, and other similar reactions on your injection areas.
Possible Side Effects
Short-lasting reactions, usually not more than 7 days, can include redness, swelling, itching, pain, bruising, and discoloration of the injection site. Infection may also happen, just like in all other treatments using injections. Make sure your doctor inspects your medical history before giving you an injection of Juvederm, especially if you have a history of allergies.
